Tioga Medical Center is a nonprofit, community-owned healthcare facility located in Tioga, North Dakota. Established in 1961, it serves as a cornerstone of health and wellness for the rural community and surrounding areas. The center operates a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, a 30-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, and a 22-unit Independent Living facility. Additionally, Tioga Medical Center manages three rural health clinics situated in Tioga, Ray, and Powers Lake.
The facility is recognized for its commitment to high-quality care, earning accolades such as the Pinnacle Customer Experience award and the North Dakota Service of the Year award for its Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Top 20 Best Practices in Quality
The National Rural Health Association awarded Tioga Medical Center a 2024 Top 20 Best Practices in Quality designation. This means we ranked in the top 20 in the Quality category among all critical access hospitals in the nation – that’s over 1,300 hospitals! We received this award only one other time, in 2015.
Customer Experience Award
Pinnacle Quality Insight awarded Tioga Medical Center Long-Term Care a 2024 Customer Experience Award. This award recognizes our organization’s outstanding performance in the Skilled Nursing Facility category. We received recognition in the following service areas: Overall Satisfaction, Nursing Care, Dining Service, Quality of Food, Cleanliness, Individual Needs, Laundry Service, Communications, Response to Problems, Recommend to Others, Activities, Professional Therapy Services, Admissions Process, Safety and Security, and Overall Customer Satisfaction. This is our ninth year in a row receiving this award.
